Abstract: Fine classification of low-yield wells is the basis of effective production and differential management of low-yield wells, but scholars at home and abroad lack of research on the decline characteristics of lowyield gas wells. Therefore, taking the decline of low production wells into consideration, a kind of special low production wells(abnormal low production wells) is proposed. Through comprehensive analysis of production performance data in Jingbian gas field, the characteristics of abnormal low production wells and their exploitation significance are preliminarily discussed. The research shows that abnormal low production wells are a special kind of low production wells with great potential for tapping. They have high residual reserves and remarkable abnormal decline stage, and their production capacity is restrained in the production process and cannot normally display. It is suggested that in the process of detailed classification of development and management of low-yield wells, the theoretical study of the causes of abnormal low-yield wells and the countermeasures of differential management should be strengthened.
