Abstract: Wiggins dry seal gasholders, whose storage volumeare changeable with the movement of pistons, currentlyhave been widely applied to store town gas. They have theadvantages of excellent performance, reasonable structureand low operational and maintenance costs compared withwater seal gasholders and Man waterless gasholders, arenew energy -saving and environment - friendly facilitiesand are suitable for deployment in oil refining andchemical engineering enterprises. This paper introduces itsmain structures and operational principles. Inconsideration of the differences between low pressure fuelgas and town gas, technical transformations in thefollowing aspects including equipment arrangement,attached equipment, automatic control and fire controlshould be performed in designing this type of gasholdersso as to meet the requirements of low pressure fuel gas inrefineries.
