Abstract: According to breakeven principles, a formula of economic limit initial rating of new wells is derived based on the real production data in Shengli oilfield. Influences of variations in well depth, investment, management costand oil price are discussed. The economic limit initial ratings of oil wells in highly permeable areas in Shengli oilfield are calculated with this formula which provide scientific basis for development decision -making and production.
