Abstract: et al There are totally about 1000rigs in operation in Chi-na at present with an average annual coefficient of 0.4.Most of them are4000m large rigs or larger rigs,while the number of portable rigs and electrical rigs are small.The technical features of most rigs lag behind the interna-tional advanced level and cannot meet the requirements of international rig market to rigs.Rig manufacturing technolo-gies in America are the most advanced in the world.Elec-trical drive and top drive devices are the main driving mode.Modularized rigs,traction type truck-mounted rigs and trailer-mounted rigs are widely used.The development trend of rigs is diversification,miniaturization and safety.To be competent in international rig market,China should manufacture portable drilling equipments that are highly modularized,practical,easy to operate and highly automa-tized.Manufacturers should strictly follow API SPEC.
