Geochemical characteristics and oil & source rock correlation of Mesozoic reservoir of Songjia depression,Liaohe basin

  • Geochemical characteristics of oil sands and source rocks of Songjia depression,Liaohe basin,are summarized.Oil and source correlations are performed by applying the char- acteristics of vapor-phase chromatography of saturated hy- drocarbon and biological markers in the oil sands.Study shows that the thermal evolution of organic matters is in the immature to low mature stage,and Jiufotang Formation pro- vides main source rocks.7 oil sand samples in Fuxin Forma- tion can be classified as two types according to the genesis. The low-gammacerane oil sand has genetic relationship with the source rocks of Jiufotang Formation because of the similar characteristics of biological marker,while the high gammacerane oil sand fails to be found its matching source rocks in the depression.
