The Relationship Between Abnormal High Pressure and Hydrocarbon Accumulation

Abnormal high pressure exists in deep of Zhuangxi area where contain abundant hydrocarbon resources.Sev-eral factors resulting in abnormal high pressure include imbalanced vertical compaction caused by rapid subsi-dence and disequilibrium of permeability,tectonic action and heavy hydrocarbon-to-gas reaction under high pres-sure and temperature.Abnormal high pressure played an important role in the process of deep hydrocarbon accu-mulation:①abnormal high pressure improve reservoir property;②the overlying super-high pressure zone acts as good seal to underlying hydrocarbon accumulation;and③abnormal high pressure promotes migration of hydro-carbon under suitable conditions.
