Prospect Analysis of Coalbed Gas Resource in West Henan

Based on analysis of the main geologic conditions and coalbed methane accumulation in Carboniferous and Permian coal-bearing area in West Henan, it is believed that coalbed methane resource in this area are rich with synclinal structures being the main accumulating places, and the level of enrichment is controlled mainly by buried deepth,fault development and structural location. Coal fields, located in Pingdingshan and Yuxian in the central and southern parts of this area, have thick coal beds, high content of coalbed methane and rich resources, high predicted recoverability and favorable geographic conditions and market enviroments, and are favorab1e regions to explore and develop coalbed methane.
