A study of seismic acquisition methods in Arbei-Shun-bei areas with low signal-to-noise ratio

  • Arbei - Shunbei area, located in western part of Ta-bei depression and with complex surface and underground structures, is typical low signal-to- noise ratio areas in Tarim basin. The quality of previous seismic sections in the area are poor, the main targets are deeply buried and very tight, the velocity differences between different layers are insignificant, interlayer reflection coefficient is small, and the signal - to - noise ratio of data acquired in deep layers are low. Seismic acquisition methods are thoroughly studied in order to acquire a clear image of the deep layers. First, a geologic model is built based on the available data and MOFLS forward modeling method is used to analyze the problems of the previous seismic exploration. Then, an observation system is designed and the optimum array length is determined by using economically viable methods to acquire effective reflectance data of more targets. "Integrated in- situ quality monitoring" technology is also used in field acquisition. The quality of newly acquired seismic data is greatly improved.
