A new skin factor model for perforated horizontal wells

Abstract
Based on Karakas & Tariq perforation skin factor model for vertical wells, a new composite skin factor model for perforated horizontal wells is built by integrating analytical calculations with 3D finite element simulation. The skin factors of horizontal wells mainly depend on the values of permeability anisotropy and perforation azimuth. This new perforation skin model can be used to optimize horizontal well perforation and to maximize well productivity.
