Laboratory study of CO_2 dissolved flooding mechanism on ternary combination soaks in super heavy oil reservoir

  • As super heavy oil has high viscosity and less effective, studying the effect of CO2 dissolved flooding mechanism in ternary combination soaks of super heavy oils is a good way to improver super heavy oil recovery. Through laboratory study, the super heavy oil viscosity and CO2 solubility in super heavy oil and different WC liquid, under different temperature and pressure have been tested. The results showed that viscosity of super heavy oil was decreased significantly with increasing temperature, CO2 solubility increased with pressure increasing and temperature dropping. In oil-water system, CO2 solubility decreased with pressure, temperature and water cut dropping. Laboratory ternary combination soaks study showed that CO2 dissolved in water-oil system, especially dissolved in super heavy oil, which can improve the oil recovery.
